Making your professional debut can be a daunting experience.
I guess the nerves often go into overdrive as you seek to bring to the ring everything you?ve learned in the gym whilst also maintaining your composure.
However, I guess it helps if your first fight is in front of your partisan home crowd.
Last night Lee Cutler made his professional debut in front of his home crowd in Bristol against Alec Bazza.
Bazza was probably the ideal opponent for Cutler with his record reading 0-14, but the fight wasn?t totally one-sided with Bazza giving his best over the four rounds.
But Cutler?s class shone through and the local lad produced the crisper, sharper work to take the verdict by 39-38 on the referee, Marcus McDonnell?s score-card.
It?ll be interesting to see, over the coming months, how Cutler does in the light-welterweight division and how busy his management team keep him.
