The next two weekend will see Manchester become a hot-bed of action as far as the lightweight division in world boxing goes.

This Saturday, at the Manchester Velodrome, Terry Flanagan gets his opportunity to join the growing list of British boxers that currently hold world titles when he takes on Jose Zepeda for the WBO version of the title.

Next Saturday, at the Manchester Arena, Anthony Crolla will be taking on the WBA champion for another version of the title when he faces Darley Perez.

For 28-year-old Crolla, it is a dream come true to be returning to the ring after picking up some horrible injuries whilst trying to catch burglars who had raided his next door neighbours property.

For both fighters it is a chance to fulfil their destiny but for both it will be a huge challenge, even on home soil to emerge victorious.

However, Crolla has a vision of climbing into the ring with his friend Flanagan for a unification fight, with Crolla remarking to the media,

?It would be a great story if we both got a world title. We would have to put our friendship aside.?

Indeed it would, but one step at a time please gents, get the business done this Saturday and next Saturday before looking too far over the horizon.
