This Saturday, in Manchester at the Manchester Arena, Anthony Crolla returns to the ring for the first time since being hospitalized trying to apprehend burglars.

Crolla suffered a fractured skull and a broken ankle as the villains hit him with a concrete block. It was thought that Crolla may never box again but box again he is.

This Saturday Crolla will get the chance to fight for what he was training for before the incident occurred, a world title.

Sure to be cheered on by not only those inside the Arena, but by the whole population of Britain, who are perfectly aware of what happened to Anthony, the Manchester fighter will be up against the WBA champion, the Colombian fighter Darleys Perez.

Talking about what was a long road back, Crolla had this to say to the BBC,

‘It was a long rehab but it was something very important to me that had to be done,.

‘It got me in shape to start training for this fight and after that training camp, I’m now in the best shape of my life without a doubt.’

Crolla will not only need to be in the shape of his life but will also have to produce the performance of his life to beat the champion.

But if he does, he has one ambition he wishes to fulfil as a Manchester United supporter, as he further explains,

?I can’t wait for the new season.

‘and it would be great to go to the first game against Tottenham with a world title belt.’

Well we?ve got our fingers crossed that it will be a magical night and Crolla emerges on top.
