Over in Nebraska last night, in a clash of two unbeaten fighters, Terence Crawford stopped Yuriorkis Gamboa in the 9th round.

Both fighters entered the ring with identical records of 23-0 with 16 by way of knockout but it was to be the WBO lightweight champion that dominated proceedings.

Crawford had Gamboa on the canvas a total of four times with the Cuban hitting the deck twice in the 9th round as well as in the 5th and 8th rounds.

Crawford got off to a slow start with Gamboa probably taking the first four rounds but the knockdown in the 5th slowed the challenger down. As the fight started to edge Crawford?s way Gamboa was floored with a right hand in the 8th round before two further knockdowns in the 9th saw the fight stopped with Crawford extending his record to 24-0 with 17 by way of knockout.
