Has the continual chat about fighting Floyd Mayweather Junior started to edge things towards Amir Khan getting that dream fight?
If Floyd Mayweather Senior had his way then his son would be putting pen-to-paper now on a fight with the Bolton fighter sometime in 2015.
With Floyd Junior, the WBA / WBC welterweight champion hinting that he?ll have two more fights before calling it a day, his dad wants the last fight, probably in May next year, to be the one where he shuts the British fighter up.
Taking up the story, Floyd Mayweather (47-0 with 26 by way of knockout) has remarked to the media,
?My Dad is desperate for me to take ? the Khan fight ? he just wants me to shut the kid up and put him down.?
?My Dad doesn?t like fighters trash talking his son ? but he knows as well as I do that if the fight happens ? then I am going to punish him [Khan]. If he thinks he can trash talk me and get away with it he needs to think again.?
?I am a far more intelligent fighter than him ? and I could already tell you how I would beat him,?
?My Dad wants the fight, I want to put him on his backside, so hopefully we can make it happen.?
So has Amir been right all along?
