After securing the WBA super middleweight title could we be set for an all-British unification fight?
Lurking in the shadows is the IBF champion, James DeGale. Groves is the only person to inflict a defeat upon DeGale and the North London fighter has often suggested he?d be prepared to meet Groves if the Hammersmith fighter brought a world title belt to the negotiating table.
Well that critique has now been achieved and surely DeGale will want the opportunity to avenge the defeat he suffered at the hands of Groves back in 2011.
But although Groves and DeGale spoke about a possible bout, when both were ringside for Tony Bellew?s fight against David Haye, Groves isn?t too sure it is a match that can be made, remarking,
‘I don’t think it will be an easy one to make because he is not an easy person to deal with.
‘It’s a fight I think everyone would like to see again. It’s a great fight – I’d enjoy the build up to the fight and beating him again.’
So how about it James, is that burning desire to gain revenge still there, or don?t you fancy taking on Groves again?
Could DeGale be Next for Groves?
