Down under, where the weather is probably a lot warmer than it is here, Gary Corcoran challenged Jeff Horn for his WBO welterweight title.
Horn, who had won the title against Manny Pacquiao back in July, kept on to his belt with an 11th round stoppage against the gallant British challenger.
Corcoran?s gallant attempt at bringing the WBO belt back to the UK ended in round eleven when the referee, in the Brisbane bout, decided that the cut above the eye he had received was too bad to continue.
The successful defence of his title takes Horn?s record to 18 wins from 19 fights, as a professional, whilst Corcoran sees his record slip to 17 wins and 2 defeats.
As for the next challenger for Horn, there is talk of the Australian facing Terence Crawford, with Horn remarking after the fight,
‘It’s a big possibility. If that is what everyone wants to see, I guess that is what is going to happen.?
Whilst another name being mentioned is Amir Khan.
