With the O2 Arena rocking to the sound of the bells from Big Ben, a possible star of the future made his way to the ring last night.

Conor Benn, still just nineteen years of age, is the son of the former middleweight and super-middleweight legend Nigel Benn, last night the fighter from Ilford was having his third fight with his opponent being the Czech Republic?s Lukas Radic.

The first two fights of Conor?s career, had seen the youngster show all the tenacity his father had, the first saw Conor win by knockout but the second saw Conor get mixed up in a slug-fest that saw him take a points decision.

Last night though, against Radic, Conor boxed perfectly, there were no rash lunges and Conor bided his time before catching Radic with a huge punch that saw him out cold before he hit the canvas.

The fact that on the way down Conor landed another left only added to Radic?s woes.

The Czech fighter lay prone on the canvas and there was concern for his safety, but, thankfully, Radic was soon back onto his feet to a round of applause from the crowd.

As for Conor Benn, he?ll face sterner tests but the youngster appears to have what it takes to follow his illustrious dad onto greater things.
