The highly-rated Michael Conlan registered another win this weekend.
Having won his first three fights, Conlan was matched against the American fighter, Kenny Guzman, in Tuscon, Arizona.
Scheduled to last six-rounds, Conlan stopped his opponent inside two rounds.
A right-hand caught Guzman flush on the chin and although the fighter bravely climbed back to his feet, the referee, Wes Melton, stopped the bout just before the bell would have sounded.
Conlan has now won all four of his professional fights and he had this to say to the media afterwards,
‘I felt good.
‘At the start I was a bit worried, I felt that he didn’t have any power so I did the wrong thing and got reckless and wasn’t minding taking punches, which is stupid of me.
‘Manny shouted at me in the corner but I was just happy to get a nice knock-out. I felt a bit more power tonight, I was working the body a bit more.’
Here at Vital Boxing we?re keeping a close eye on Michael?s progress, he could go a long way in this sport of ours.
