Boxing folk can, at times, be a strange breed.

Ahead of the IBF world heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina on Saturday night, many pundits were suggesting this was an ideal time to make a comparison between Joshua and the current WBC heavyweight title holder Deontay Wilder.

After all the big-punching Wilder had knocked out Molina when they fought.

Many pundits also suggested that Molina could be the man to test Joshua?s chin and see if he really is the real deal.

Cut to the fight and with Joshua having demolished Molina in three rounds and without taking a substantial punch from the challenger, the pundits were quick to suggest that the fight was a miss-match and that it proved absolutely nothing.

Honestly, there?s no pleasing some people!

Joshua used his skills to nullify the threat presented by Molina, keeping out of range but always looking to move in at speed and hit Molina with some hurtful shots.

But, returning to the comparison between two heavyweight title holders, Joshua and Wilder, perhaps Joshua?s trainer, Robert McCracken sums things up perfectly, when he remarked to the media,

?Anthony?s beaten Molina in his 18th contest in three rounds while WBC champion Deontay Wilder beat him in his 34th.

?If you match him as Wilder?s been matched, he?s well ahead.?

Exactly, let?s start giving our boy the credit he deserves.
