After the latest defence of his super-middleweight title, against James DeGale, Badou Jack hinted that his next fight would see him move up to lightweight.

Well it appears that is to be the case and that Jack?s first fight could be against a very familiar opponent.

The indications coming from Eddie Hearn is that Jack is set to meet the Welsh fighter Nathan Cleverly for the Welshman?s WBA world light heavyweight belt.

Cleverly was scheduled to give Juergen Braehmer a rematch after their first fight was stopped in the sixth round due to an injury suffered by the German fighter, a fight where Cleverly was losing.

Now whether Braehmer will step aside remains to be seen but if the fight can be made, with Eddie Hearn remarking about it on Twitter,

?We have Badou Jack and Nathan Cleverly is ready!?

Cleverly currently has a record that reads 30-3 with 16 wins coming by way of knockout whilst Jack?s record reads 20-1-3 with 12 wins coming by way of knockout.

We?ll report further if / when the contracts are signed.
