Nathan Cleverly will be fighting on the under-card of the bill topped by the showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.

The bill, scheduled for Saturday 26th August, will see Cleverly defend his WBA light-heavyweight title against Badou Jack.

Cleverly won the belt when he beat Juergen Braehmer back in October 2016.

Jack, who is moving up to light-heavyweight last fought against James DeGale in a fight that controversially ended as a majority draw.

Cleverly, talking about the fight, had this to say,

‘I’ve trained long and hard for this fight and I’m ready to be let off the leash. This is the biggest fight of my career.’

Jack, also discussing the bout, remarked to the media,

‘I’m getting ready to take that belt, and win a title in my second weight class.’

If Cleverly wins this bout his next fight must be a mandatory defence against the Russian fighter, Dmitry Bivol who holds the interim title and has won all eleven of his professional fights.
