Yesterday I reported on how an opponent had been selected for Dereck Chisora?s next fight, on February 15th.

In my article I implied that I didn?t think that, despite his 24-0 record, the selected opponent, the Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko, would cause Dereck much trouble, what with the fighter not being ranked inside the top 15 by any of the leading boxing organizations.

I also said that the fight should see Dereck add another win to his record, a record that is starting to look far better now he?s slimmed down and is, reportedly, taking the game a lot more seriously.

Naturally, Dereck is looking forward to 2014 and with one of the Klitschko brothers having decided that politics is the sport for him rather than boxing, Chisora has ambitions of his own remarking,

?Let this be the year I get a shot at the world title and bring it back to Britain.?

With a new champion set to be installed, I?m hoping that the fights will flow, in the heavyweight division, thick and fast, but whether Chisora gets a shot facing fighters not ranked highly by the various organizations, remains to be seen.
