Damn it!
How peeved off I feel at the moment defies belief.
For weeks I?ve been sat patiently waiting for 26th July to come along so I can witness two heavyweights of the British fight scene come fact-to-face, it?s a fight that could have defined the heavyweight scene for years to come, but, sadly, ITS OFF.
News has filtered through that Dereck Chisora has been forced to pull out of the fight with a damaged hand which scans showed had two hair-line fractures. Ironically, the injury occurred during the last sparring session of a sixteen week training camp.
Talking about having to pull out of the fight, Chisora is quoted as having remarked,
?I can?t tell you how disappointed I am to have to pull out of the fight against Fury, but it is on the advice of my specialist that I have to do this.?
?I?m sorry for the fans who will get to miss this great fight between me and Tyson this Saturday.?
?But once my hand is healed and I?m given the all-clear to train and punch again, I?ll be working on the new date for the fight.?
Although I can understand Chisora?s disappointment, I can imagine that Tyson Fury will be equally, if not more, disappointed seeing as he?s been through the same scenario not one, but twice, with David Haye!
