In Hamburg, Germany, last night Britain?s Dereck Chisora was hoping to claim the vacant European heavyweight title.

Matched against the durable and tough Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev, Chisora lost a split decision with Pulev taking the strap.

The Bulgarian dominated the fight, using his jab to pick off Chisora although Chisora did catch Pulev with a huge shot in the sixth round that rocked Pulev.

When the scorecards were announced, the points? verdicts were:-

? 118 ? 110 (Pulev)
? 116 ? 112 (Pulev)
? 115 ? 113 (Chisora)

Pulev?s record, following the capture of the European crown; moves to 23-1 with his only defeat coming when he challenged Wladimir Klitschko for the world title back in November 2014.

For Chisora it was his sixth defeat in thirty-one fights and the London fighter is, once again, at a crossroads in his career.
