Over in Hamburg last night, now boxing for the Sauerland team, Dereck Chisora had his latest fight on the comeback trail.
Chisora, who lost a WBO heavyweight title eliminator that saw the victor Tyson Fury go on to become the heavyweight champion of the world, was matched against Peter Erdos.
Erdos, we suspected wouldn?t be in the same class bracket as Chisora and that proved to be the case.
Chisora got the mid-fight stoppage when it was deemed that Erdos was in no fit state to continue in round five.
Although the win will, no doubt, boost Chisora?s ego, it has to be said the London fighter didn?t look that impressive and in gaining the victory he needed, took too many headshots from the limited fighter that Erdos is.
Chisora may have gotten a third win on the bounce since that loss to Fury but he?s not met anyone of any substance and if the heavyweight, who now has a record that reads 23-5 with 15 wins coming by way of knockout, has intentions of returning to the world stage, then Sauerland will have to come up with some far better opposition to determine whether Chisora still has what it needs.
