In Newcastle tonight Stuart Hall and Martin Ward will go head-to-head in an IBF bantamweight world title fight.

It?ll be the first time two brave fighting boxers from the North East have gone head-to-head for a world crown.

Hall is currently the champion having won the title in December when he beat the highly fancied South African, Vusi Malinga over 12 rounds, in Leeds.

Ward, the underdog, has the backing of the unbeaten heavyweight, Tyson Fury, with the fighter who takes on Dereck Chisora in a world title eliminator remarking about Wad?s chances of causing an upset,

?Martin has all the talent to do it. Travelling folk are a closely-knit group and I have seen how he is positively oozing confidence.?

However, the smart money is on Hall retaining his title in what should be an enthralling encounter.
