There?s a lot to be said for the fearless nature associated with youth.

This Saturday, at the Craven Arena in Hull, another of our successful Olympic team, from London 2012, ventures into the professional arena.

Luke Campbell will be making his professional debut in his home town, quite a daunting prospect for the young man, especially when expectation levels are so high.

But it would seem that nothing fazes the youngster as he prepares to make his professional debut, against Andy Harris, even more so after boxing at the Olympics and also appearing on that show (a show that I find nauseating) Dancing on Ice.

Speaking to the media about his first foray into professional boxing, Campbell is quoted as having remarked,

?I?m not nervous at all, just incredibly excited.?

?I had nerves before the Olympics and even before Dancing on Ice, but I?m not nervous about my debut, I?m just really looking forward to it. I?ve trained incredibly hard for it and I plan to put on a great show to excite the fans so they come back again.?

?The best boxers in the World have to make their debuts and that was just their first step on the road to World title success ? and ultimately that?s my goal.?

?It?s a new leaf and I?m so excited about it. I know Andy (Harris) will come to Hull looking to spoil the party and I?ve heard that he?s a tough lad, so it will be a good test on my fist night in the pros.?

I reckon, come Saturday night, Luke may well suffer a bout of nerves, it?s only to be expected, but as his moment to shine draws nearer and as the bouts before his finish, the old adrenalin will kick in and the roar from his fanatical home support will make it a night to remember for the young man.
