Also fighting on the under-card, at Wembley Stadium, this Saturday evening is another British fighter looking to edge towards the very top of his profession.
Luke Campbell, who has a record that reads 16-1, will be taking on Darleys Perez in an eliminator for a shot at the world lightweight title.
Campbell has gotten his head down and worked hard since being surprisingly beaten by Yvan Mendy back in December 2015.
Since that shock defeat, Campbell has accumulated four wins, against Gary Sykes, Argenis Mendez, Derry Matthews and Jairo Lopez.
To further his career, Campbell has been training in Miami and ahead of his date with Perez, Campbell has remarked,
‘I’ve never had it easy in boxing. Always the hard route. I’m expecting a hard night against Perez but I’m ready. I’ve spent only around four weeks in the country this year and have made a lot of sacrifices.’
Hopefully, all those sacrifices will pay off and Campbell, who won a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics, will pay off and Campbell will get the chance to add a world title to the Commonwealth and WBC Silver International belts he currently holds.
