And given the chance to make an impact on the world scene.
Yesterday I asked if the under-card for the huge Wembley promotion that will see the IBF heavyweight champion of the world, Anthony Joshua, go head to head with a heavyweight legend, Wladimir Klitschko, well it seems the answer was no.
Today it has been announced that the Olympic Gold medal winner, at the 2012 London games, Luke Campbell, has been added to the bill.
Twenty-nine-year-old Campbell will face the Colombian fighter, Darley?s Perez, in an eliminator to become the mandatory challenger for the WBA world lightweight title.
Perez is no stranger to the British fight public having faced Anthony Crolla twice, drawing the first contest and then losing the second.
Talking about his opportunity to move closer to winning a world title, Campbell had this to say,
?This is the fight of my career so far and I’m so excited to be boxing on this huge night at Wembley.
?I feel like I’ve been improving with every performance and believe now that I’m ready for a shot at the world title.’
Can Luke Campbell move a step closer to world title glory?
Here at Vital Boxing we don?t see why not!
