The road to a tilt at the WBC super-middleweight title has suddenly opened up nicely for the Liverpool fighter, Callum Smith.

Yesterday it was announced that Callum will take on Hadillah Mohoumadi for the European super-middleweight belt.

More importantly, the fight has been classified as an official eliminator for the right to face Badou Jack for the WBC crown, Jack being the holder after beating the Hammersmith fighter, George Groves, by a split decision in late 2015.

Callum will be hoping to tread in the footsteps of his brother Liam who already has the WBO light-middleweight belt in his possession.

Talking about what lies ahead for him, Callum speaking to the media has remarked,

?This is the biggest fight of my career by far.

?It?s great that it?s at home at the Echo Arena.

?My dream is to fight for a world title, so if I win this fight I am nearly there. But there can be no slip-ups.

?He?s a tough fighter and has pedigree, so I know I have to be at my best, but I believe with a good camp behind me I will be.

?Then it?s on to take the world title fight and I believe that I can take the title from Jack and hold it for a long time.?

One fight at a time Callum, let?s get that EBU belt first before talking about taking on Badou Jack!
