The big fight tonight, at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, sees the local hero Callum Smith pitched against Christopher Rebrasse.
Callum Smith has been carefully manoeuvred into the #3 spot in the WBC super-middleweight ratings but is now being put in with a fighter that has ambitions of getting a world title fight himself.
The last time Rebrasse fought in the United Kingdom he took George Groves the full twelve rounds before losing on points.
Smith, with a record that reads 16-0 with 12 wins coming by way of knockout weighed in at 11 stone 13 pound whilst Rebrasse, with a record that reads 23-3-3 with 6 by way of knockout weighed in at 11 stone and 13 pounds.
The aim for Smith has to be not only to win but to do it inside the distance thereby eclipsing the result world title chasing Groves had against the same man.
Will Callum be able to do it, we?re not so sure. We reckon he?ll get the win but it may very well go the distance with Rebrasse being out-worked to lose on points.
