After Paul Butler defeated Stuart Hall to become the IBF world bantamweight champion, many perceived that it was a strange decision by Butler to almost immediately relinquish the crown.

But Butler had, so we?re told, unfinished business at super-flyweight, business that will see him top the bill in a show at the Liverpool ECHO Arena, promoted by Frank Warren and wonderfully entitle the Magnificent 7?s Return.

The show is scheduled for 25th October and Butler will get a chance to see to that aforementioned unfinished business when he locks horns with IBF super-flyweight champion Zolani Tete

Talking about the match-up, at the press conference held to herald the announcement of the Liverpool show, Butler remarked about facing Tete,

‘He is a tall southpaw so he is going to be awkward.?

‘He is a decent kid and if you give him time and space then he will be a handful so we need to break up his rhythm and I think I can force the stoppage.’

Fighting in Liverpool will be a huge advantage for Butler with his vociferous support doing their best to spur their man on, something they did when Butler defeated Hall in Newcastle, with Butler remarking about his support,

‘You saw how many fans we took up to Newcastle when I challenged for the bantamweight world title in June and hopefully we can double that at the ECHO Arena.’

Although the fight has yet to be officially sanctioned as a world title fight by the governing body, in this case the IBF, both fighters have agreed terms and no problems are anticipated.
