It was announced some time ago that the Scottish fighter, Ricky Burns, would be fighting for a world title.

Burns, who in recent years has had a topsy-turvy career whilst also debating at what weight he should be campaigning as, will be hoping to become a three-weight world champion.

Burns, who has already held world titles at super-featherweight and lightweight, will be looking to add the WBA super-lightweight title to his repertoire.

To do so Burns will need to get the better of Michele Di Rocco when they fight for the vacant title with the fight scheduled to take place at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, on May 28th.

No doubt Burns will be cheered on by a very noisy and very boisterous partisan crowd and it has the potential to be another one of those magical nights in Glasgow.

Here at Vital Boxing we?re looking forward to the clash and it?s one we?ve stuck in our diary.
