On the Hull under-card the former Scottish world title holder, Ricky Burns continued his comeback.

Burns who has previously held the WBO super-featherweight and lightweight titles was facing the Ghanaian fighter Prince Ofotsu.

The fight was to have the strangest ending of the night.

With 32-year-old Burns well on top, but with Ofotsu not in any real danger, the Ghanaian?s corner threw the towel in.

Up until that moment Burns had been doing well and was on top, the Scot was catching his opponent with some heavy head shots and some punishing body-shots.

But, when that aforementioned towel came fluttering into the ring, to be caught by Ofotsu, Burns looked as surprised as his opponent and the rest of us.

In his post-fight interview Burns spoke about getting back to world title level, the ambition and desire is to be commended but whether that ageing body can carry him there remains to be seen.
