After his career looked to be heading towards retirement, Ricky Burns, after two wins, is on the comeback trail big-time.

The former two weight division world title holder, is looking towards getting another world title fight.

Burns, with a record that reads 39-5-1 with 13 wins coming by way of knockout, I eyeing up a crack at the winner of the forthcoming WBO lightweight fight between the champion Terry Flanagan and Derry Mathews at the O2 Arena, in Liverpool.

However, whether Burns gets his wish remains to be seen. The WBO would have to sanction the bout and with Burns ranked at #3, there might well be some objections from the #1 rated challenger Jose Zepeda and the #2 ranked challenger Petr Petrov.

But, we wouldn’t be too surprised is some fast talking from Burns team got the fight set up.

We’ll endeavour to keep you informed.
