Rumblings, in the business, suggested that Ricky Burns and Anthony Crolla were on a collision course.

That has now been officially confirmed with it being announced that Crolla and Burns will go head-to-head, at the Manchester Arena, on Saturday 7th October.

With both boxers coming off of losses, the loser knows that a defeat could have major ramifications when it comes to their careers.

Talking to the media, Anthony Crolla talked about just such a thing when he remarked,

‘The loser has two choices – retire, or take that tough old road back to try to climb up to that level.

‘The winner of this one is almost guaranteed another world title shot.’

But Burns doesn?t see it in a similar way and instead remarked to the media

?All I seem to be getting now from people is ‘when are you going to retire?

‘I still have another couple of years left in me. Nobody would know more than myself if it was time to call it a day.’

It promises to be a great night, but who are you taking to win?
