The defeat, on Friday night, at the hands of the Montenegro fighter Dejan Zlaticanin has left many pondering whether Ricky Burns will call it a day.
But whilst retirement remains the buzz word, Burns manager Alex Morrison doesn?t believe his charge will quit the sport. In fact Morrison reckons it is now time for Burns to move up a weight.
Speaking to the media, Morrison has remarked,
‘I’d like Ricky to move up to light-welterweight, where I have no doubt he could win a third world title.
‘I think he definitely won’t call it a day.’
The big question though is whether Burns has been struggling to make lightweight and if he does move up in weight will he be able to handle the extra power the fighters in that division have?
