Is Ricky Burns about to get the chance to see his name up in lights in Las Vegas.
After what can only be described as a difficult year the grapevine is alive suggesting that the name of Ricky Burns has been pencilled in for a big super-featherweight fight in Las Vegas against the IBF champion Rances Barthelemy.
Burns, who has a record of 37-4-1 with 11 by way of knockout would be going head-to-head against the unbeaten champion who has a record that reads 21-0 with 12 wins coming by way of knockout.
Talking about his possible Vegas date, Burns has remarked to the media,
?I?m waiting for the final confirmation for a big fight possibly in America,
?I can?t say much now but in the next couple of weeks it will be announced. I?ve put last year behind me and I still think I have big fights in me. The talk about this fight has brought the excitement back. I?ve got my fingers crossed that it will happen, but I think a lot of people will be looking forward to this fight.?
Indeed they will and I?m wondering whether this is just the sort of fight that will see the career of Ricky Burns re-ignited.
