With several decent promotions in the pipeline, Ricky Burns steps back into the spotlight on October 7th, in Glasgow.
The popular fighter will be defending the WBA super-lightweight crown he won against Michele di Rocco in May.
Burn?s return to the ring, at the SSE Hydro, will see Burns take on the unbeaten 26-year-old Belarusian Kiryl Relikh, a fighter who is capable of taking opponents out with one punch.
Talking about what lies ahead, Burns has remarked about his upcoming date with Relikh,
?He?s got a high KO ratio and trust me ? he has my undivided attention.
?I?ll have to be at my best to get through this.?
Before winning the vacant WBA title, against Michele di Rocco, Burns had gone through a tricky period in his career, but winning the WBA super-lightweight title, making him a three-weight world champion gave Burns immense pleasure, with the Scot remarking,
?Everyone had written me off and it felt very good to prove them all wrong.?
Can Burns produce another masterful display to make a first defence of his latest world title?
That is something we all are dying to see.
