As Ricky Burns prepares to defend his WBO lightweight title, against Raymundo Beltran in Glasgow tonight, it would appear that Burns preparations have been far from ideal.

Instead of being safely harnessed in the solitude of the gym Burns has had to cope with the stress of giving birth and moving house, or as Ricky put it when talking to the media,

?The last two or three months have been a nightmare.?

?Moving house with the baby on its way, while trying to train for this fight.?

?Amanda went into labour at 4am on Monday and didn?t have the baby until Thursday morning, so she was in for a while. It was all just a nightmare, but it?s all done now so all my focus is on Saturday.?

?Boxing is my job and I know what I need to go out and do. First I need to win and then put on a good performance ? better than the last one.?

Indeed, there were some rocky moments last time out, against Jose Gonzales, let?s hope tonight Ricky looks the business.
