After climbing back on to the pedestal that declares Ricky Burns as the WBA world light-welterweight champion, Ricky Burns now faces a tough title defence.
According to reports filtering through, the WBA have given Burns thirty days to negotiate and come up with a date to take on the highly rated #1 WBA challenger Relikh Kiryl.
Kiryl has an impressive record that reads 21-0 with 19 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
The first option is for Burns and Kiryl?s management to come to an agreement otherwise the fight will go to purse bids.
In winning the title, Burns looked impressive against the Italian fighter Michele Di Rocco stopping his opponent in the 8th round, but Kiryl will be a totally different match, one that will need Burns to up his game even more.
We?ll endeavour to keep you updated with any news on a match-up being agreed.
