This Friday evening, up in Glasgow, Ricky Burns will, as we?ve already reported earlier this week, be looking to steer his faltering career back towards another shot at a version of the world title.

With the unbeaten Montenegrin fighter, Dejan Zlaticanin, standing in his path Burns will have to produce a far better display than that which he produced when he lost his previous version of the world title to the slick unbeaten American Terence Crawford.

The 31 year-old is, you could say, at a vital crossroads in his career and if a fight against one of the current world champions, Omar Figueroa is to become a reality nothing other than a convincing win this Friday evening will suffice.

Ahead of the bout Burns has spoken about his future, remarking to the media,

?I believe I have another world title in me. Omar is a good fighter, another southpaw, but I?ve seen clips of him and his last defence was a close fight and some people thought he lost it.?

?So it would be a fight that I would be confident going into. Fingers crossed that I can get through this one and Eddie Hearn can work his magic and get me that shot.?

Our advice to Ricky is to forget about any possible clash with Omar Figueroa and instead concentrate on the job in hand, namely beating Dejan Zlaticanin!
