Having lost his world title to the highly rated Terence Crawford, Scotland?s Ricky Burns is set to start the climb back to world title level.

Somewhat fortuitously Burns, ranked #5 by the WBO, has been granted a WBC lightweight title eliminator against an opponent ranked lower than him in the rankings, the #9 WBC ranked Dejan Zlaticanin.

Whilst Burns has a record of 36-3-1, his opponent enters this fight with a record of 18-0, with 13 by way of knockout.

The fight, an interesting one on paper, will be staged on 27th June at the Braehead Arena, in Glasgow and with Burns not being ranked in the top 15 by the WBC it shows that Eddie Hearn has the ability to pull something out of the bag as far as his fighters are concerned.

We?ll endeavour to concentrate more on it as the date approaches.
