Ricky Burns has an opportunity to get a recognised belt strapped around his waist the next time he climbs between the ropes.
The Scot has been added to the promotion at the Sheffield Arena on October 24th, a promotion that sees the IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook top the bill.
Burns will be taking on the Finnish fighter Edis Tatli for the European title.
However, it won?t be an easy fight for Burns as his 28-year-old opponent has a decent record. In the twenty-six bouts Tatli has had so far, he?s only been beaten once when he challenged Cuba?s Richar Abril for the WBA version of the lightweight title.
Burns, a former two weight world champion, will enter the ring with a record that reads thirty-eight wins in his forty-four fight to date.
The last time Burns fought was against the Ghanaian fighter Prince Ofotsu, who he beat on points.
Here?s hoping that 32-year-old Burns can grab that European belt and then possibly move onwards and upwards but it will be a hard fight which we believe could go either way.
