Following his victory over Zhanat Zhakiyanov, at the SSE Arena in Belfast, on Saturday night, we reported that Ryan Burnett had been taken to hospital.

The Belfast boxer complained of a severe headache was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Thankfully Burnett, who now holds both the WBA and IBF bantamweight belts, was given the all-clear with his diagnosis showing that a damaged neck ligament had caused the problem.

Now Burnett is acknowledged as a unified champion, plans are afoot to further enhance his already high-profile in the sport.

His promoter, Eddie Hearn, is looking at his charge being given the opportunity to add other bantamweight world title belts to his collection, with fights against Jamie McDonnell and Zolani Tete being mentioned.

However, talking about Burnett, Hearn also suggested that he could also opt to move up a weight with Hearn remarking post-fight,

?He?s got two options next year. You?ve got Tete, who is a very good fighter and that?s a tough fight.

?You?ve got the possibility of moving up to super bantamweight.?

Whatever route is chosen you can be sure Ryan Burnett has a golden future in the sport.
