One of the most exciting fights of last year saw Frank Buglioni and Hosea Burton fight for the British light-heavyweight title.
In a battle where both men had periods on top, it was Buglioni who emerged the victor, putting Burton on the canvas in the 11th round and then stopping the unbeaten home fighter in the final round.
Buglioni has been out of the ring since that night but was scheduled to defend against the unbeaten Tipton fighter, Ricky Summers, in March.
Unfortunately, Buglioni suffered a cut in training and the fight was postponed.
However, the fight will now take place at the O2 Arena, in London, on Saturday July 1st.
Talking about having to withdraw from the March date, Buglioni had this to say to the media,
?I felt sick with the injury at the time but I?m raring to go now.
?I saw the surgeon and he said that my skin is fine and that I?m not susceptible to cuts so that?s a positive for me. It was the head-guard that caused it so we?ve changed that.
?I live in the gym, always keeping sharp and fit, so it was a setback but I?m on track and I?m thrilled to be topping the bill at The O2.?
And on how he feels he stands in the light-heavyweight division, Buglioni added,
?There?s no Light-Heavyweight in Britain that can beat me, including Nathan Cleverly, so line them up. It?s a new chapter in my career. Hosea is above British level and I beat him so I think that shows how good I am. I want to win the Lord Lonsdale belt outright and then move onto European and World honours, and if the rematch with Hosea presents itself, great.?
The future is starting to look bright for the popular Buglioni.
