Saturday night, at Wembley Arena, saw Frank Buglioni do his utmost to achieve his dream of winning the super-middleweight belt.
As it was he fell short against his Russian opponent Fedor Chudinov, losing the verdict on the score-cards of all three of the judges.
But, Buglioni shouldn?t be too dispirited as, on the back of his brave performance, there are bound to be other opportunities and he does have age on his side.
Talking about the night that didn?t quite see his dream realised, Buglioni spoke about that punch at the end of round six, a punch that connected just after the bell, remarking,
?I thought it was on the bell. If it was ten seconds earlier I think I?d be walking away world champion.?
That might just be the case, Chudinov was rocked but there is also an argument that the champion, anticipating the bell, had dropped his guard.
Continuing, Buglioni also spoke about his future, further adding about his unanimous defeat,
?But it might have done me a favour. Now I can regroup, come again and come back stronger.?
Just as we were saying earlier, Frank will come again, he?ll be a little older and a lot wiser!
