Topping the bill at the Frank Warren promotion at the Wembley Arena last night was Frank Buglioni.
Buglioni should have been fighting Fedor Chudinov for the WBA super-middleweight title but had to settle for winning the vacant WBA Intercontinental super-middleweight title.
The fight against Chudinov didn?t happen as the champion has pulled out with a facial injury, a broken nose.
The world title fight against Chudinov is now scheduled for September 26th but Buglioni kept in shape by beating his replacement opponent Fernando Castaneda in the fifth round.
In doing so, Buglioni took his record to seventeen wins from nineteen fights whilst Castaneda, who never looked like troubling Buglioni, slipped to his fourth defeat in his last six fights.
It was always a fight that was going to have only one winner but it served the purpose of keeping Buglioni active ahead of his date with destiny against Chudinov.
