Another of those who boxed at the Rio Olympic, in 2016, has opted to turn professional.
At 24-years-of-age, Joshua Buatsi has opted to box professionally.
Buatsi, boxing at light-heavyweight, won a bronze medal in Rio and will have his first professional fight on 1st July.
The fighter was born in Accra, Ghana but came to this country when his family emigrated and lived in Croydon.
Buatsi has signed up with Eddie Hearn?s Matchroom promotions and will make his debut at the O2 Arena in London.
Speaking about the latest addition to his array of boxers, Eddie Hearn commented to the media,
?We have an outstanding talent in Joshua Buatsi.
‘He’ll be on all our major shows and we will push him to the top.’
It remains to be seen who Buatsi fights on his professional debut but we?ll certainly be following his career with interest and hope he?s destined for big things.
