They may have fights to take care of beforehand, but already two British welterweights are being mentioned as opponents for a British super-fight.

Kell Brook, fighting this Saturday and then destined to finally take on Devon Alexander for the world title, is inferring that the British public would be desperate to see him take on his welterweight rival Amir Khan.

However as we all know, Khan has ambitions of taking on the legend that is Floyd Mayweather Junior, next May, so clearly there is a lot that has to happen first before such a fight even gets close to happening.

It?s okay Brook remarking,

?I think it is a fight that needs to be made for the fans.?

?There is no doubt that there is a big demand for that fight.?

But, once Khan has taken on Mayweather would he be interested in the challenge Brook presents? Perhaps only if the Mayweather fight doesn?t go Khan?s way and Brook, possibly being a world champion, offers a route back to the top.

Will it happen? My feeling is no!

How about you?

  • I would prefer to see Brook win his fight this weekend and then have a title to offer Khan to challenge/unify to make it a truly worthwhile fight. Perhaps if Brook wins this weekend and misses out of an Alexander fight, it will be interesting, but equally I can see it becoming a non event if neither man has a belt to bring to the show due to defeats to others
