After a weekend whereby there were no big promotions or the boxing fan to look forward to, we now move towards another weekend whereby the punters have the choice of two.

In London at the SSE Wembley Arena, a promotion is topped by a British title fight between Nick Blackwell and Chris Eubank Junior, with the bill also featuring the unbeaten heavyweight Hughie Fury.

In Sheffield, the local hero Kell Brook will be defending his IBF world welterweight title against Kevin Bizer which, I suppose makes this bill the more prominent.

But it appears that Brook, who has been chasing a mega-fight with Amir Khan, is having a little trouble in the motivation department with Bizer not having the same kudos Khan would bring to the fight.

Ahead of the clash, Brook, in speaking to the media, has remarked,

?It?s not a huge fight and it has been hard getting up for it.

?I?ve seen him saying he is going to try and pressure me ? that?s music to my ears. I want to stand and fight.?

Here at Vital Boxing we hope that Brook hasn?t cut corner in his preparations because it is fights like these where shocks can be forthcoming!
