At the Liverpool Echo Arena, Sheffield?s Kell Brook overcame any misgivings about a slip up ahead of his IBF welterweight title fight against the winner of the forthcoming fight between Shawn Porter and Paulie Malinaggi.

Brook, taking on the Mexican, Alvaro Robles, beat the American with an eighth-round stoppage, taking his record to 32-0.

The Sheffield welterweight displayed his array of talents and the Mexican?s corner threw in the towel to prevent their man from taking any further punishment.

Talking to Sky Sports, after the win, Brook had this to say,

‘I’m only after those elite fighters now.’

‘I’m happy I got this out of the way and the next one is for the IBF strap.’

‘It’s getting hard to get up for these kind of kids now.’

Brook will now be anxiously waiting to see who wins when Porter and Malinaggi clash on April 19th and will be keen to find out the exact date of his much anticipated IBF world title fight.
