Although his recent performances had seen Kell Brook installed as the mandatory challenger for the IBF welterweight crown, the inference was there that the fight might not happen.

Several pundits were falsely inferring that Brook may have been a little wary of agreeing to take on the unbeaten American, Shawn Porter.

But, as we know, Kell is made of sterner stuff than that and would welcome the chance of going toe-to-toe with Porter.

All, if we heard correctly, that needed clearing up was where the fight would take place.

Brook, as you can imagine, wanted the fight to take place in front of his home fans whereas the champion wanted to remain in the USA, or New York to be more precise.

As it turns out, Porter?s camp appear to have won and the fight is scheduled to take place at the Barclay?s Centre, in New York, on August 9th.

Hopefully, Brook will be bringing the IBF belt home, across the Atlantic.
