After stopping Frankie Gavin in the sixth round, Sheffield?s Kell Brook, making the second defence of his IBF welterweight title had this to say about the contest,

‘I always knew it would be tricky.

‘I knew it was going to be scrappy. He’s awkward, he’s crafty, he’s smart.

‘I knew I had to take my time, but I knew it was a matter of time until I nailed him.

‘I could see he was tiring and I was landing heavy shots. I was testing my skills out and I got it done. Now I want to move on from this.

?He?s a very talented boxer. We are friends but this is a business and I have to move on.

?There?s many more things to come from me. I want big, big fights.?

Naturally, one of those big fights out there is against Bolton?s Amir Khan who had a decent win himself out in New York on Friday night against Chris Algieri. But Kell seems almost resigned to not facing Khan with the Sheffield fighter remarking,

?It?s getting boring for me and Khan. He doesn?t want to hear it. Why not fight me? At least Frankie has the cojones to get into the ring with me.?
