This Saturday evening, in Sheffield, Kell Brook defends his IBF welterweight title against Kevin Bizer.
It?s a fight that hasn?t exactly caught the imagination of the boxing public with Brook expected to triumph in what many see as a one-sided fight.
Indeed, the call from the rank and file is that they think Brook needs to up his quality of opponent having not fought anybody of note since taking the title off of Shawn Porter in the US.
But, as you?d expect from a fighter who is unbeaten and has a record that reads 35-0 with 24 wins coming by way of knockout, Book remains supremely confident in his ability and ahead of the fight has remarked to Sky Sports about his boxing prowess,
?I believe I?m the best on the planet. I always find a way. This is me now. I?m 30 this year and I want to show the world I?m the best.
?I?ve got to look good in this fight. I always find a way. This is me now. I?m 30 this year and I want to show the world I?m the best and that I?m ready for those big, big fights.?
?Saturday night it?s about breaking Bizier?s heart and then it?s about breaking his bones.
Saturday night. Here we go. I?m the IBF champion and I need to go out there and show everybody why I?m champion.?
There is talk that Brook?s promoter, Eddie Hearn, wants Brook to face the American Tim Bradley next, now that would be a far more appealing fight, let?s just hope it comes to fruition.
