Eddie Hearn, last week, promised us an announcement relating to Kell Brook?s comeback and the promoter was true to his word.

Today it was announced that the former IBF world welterweight champion will make his return to the ring at light-middleweight.

Brook, who will be stepping back into the ring for the first time since he was beaten Errol Spence, a fight in which he fractured his eye socket, will be taking on Sergey Rabchenko.

The fight will take place in Brook?s home city of Sheffield on 3rd March 2018.

Rabchenko should provide Brook with the test he needs if he harbours ambitions of returning to the top of his profession, the Belarusian has won 29 of his 31 fights.

Talking about his comeback, to the media, Brook had this to say,

‘My focus is on becoming a two-weight two-time world champion.

‘Rabchenko is a dangerous fight for the return but I want to jump straight back in at world level and I think our styles will gel for an electric fight.

‘I’m already deep in camp and I can’t wait to feel the atmosphere again in my home town.’

Has Brook still got what it takes to climb back to the top?

I guess we?ll find out on 3rd March, in Sheffield.
