Across the pond last night, the American boxer, Adrien Broner, won a world title at a fourth weight division.

Having previously held titles at:-

? Super-featherweight
? Lightweight

And

? Welterweight

Broner captured the WBA light-welterweight belt with a twelfth round stoppage of the Russian fighter Khabib Allakhverdiev.

The Russian, fighting for the first time in eighteen months, was being hit with regularity by Broner when, in the 12th round, several combinations being landed saw the referee step in with thirty-seven seconds of the fight left.

The victory takes Broner?s career record to 31-2 with 23 of his wins coming by the big KO.
