The tragedy that befell Nick Blackwell whereby he had to be put into an induced coma after the British middleweight title fight, an act that eventually saw the fighter forced to retire from the sport, continues to have ramifications.

Stories appearing in the media, suggested that the Blackwell family were none too happy with the conduct of the Eubank Team and in particular Chris Eubank Snr.

The unhappiness relates to the Eubank?s holding a press conference at which Blackwell?s condition was discussed.

Since then the war of words, although that?s perhaps terminology that is a little too strong, has continued.

Today, it appears that there could be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Blackwell is eager to hold a face-to-face meeting with Eubank Jnr, having been quoted in the Sun as remarking,

?I have nothing against Eubank Jr, he?s a great fighter. It?s just the stuff his old man said and did after the fight.

?Eubank Jnr said he wanted to sit down and talk to me. I would sit down and chat to both of them man to man. No cameras around.?

And that is how it should be, let?s hope it ends with a shake of the hand and smiles all around.
