On the under-card of the Stevenson v Bika bill-toper in Quebec City last night, another light-heavyweight was keen to make his mark in the division.
Whilst Stevenson might be looking towards a unification bout against Kovalev, Artur Beterbiev has his own ideas as to who Stevenson should defend his belt against next.
Beterbiev, who has had only eight fights, all won by knockout, demolished the veteran Gabriel Campillo last night, stopping his man in the 4th round.
Campillo was given a torrid time by Beterbiev and a huge right-left combination had Campillo out on his feet before he hit the canvas with the fight being stopped after two minutes and twenty-two second of the fourth round.
If Beterbiev were to be matched with Stevenson it would be a fight that could have a very explosive ending with both fighters possessing big punches, would Beterbiev, 30-years of age, dethrone the 37-year-old champion?
I think he might just, although relatively experienced, do just that!
